Daisy N Young

Daisy Nell Young, 76, was born September 22, 1947 in Prescott, Arkansas, the first born to the
late Deacon Davis and Naomi Young.
During her younger years, the family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and that is where Daisy
received her education in the Little Rock Public Schools and graduated from Horace Mann High
School Class of 1965.
She lived in Argo, Illinois for a short period of time.
She was baptized at The 34th Street Baptist Church under the leadership of The Late Rev.
Thomas Johnson. In her later years, she joined Water’s Temple Church of God In Christ and
was a member who attended regularly until her health began to fail.
Daisy was employed with MM Cohn and later retired from The Kroger Company.
Daisy loved looking at Pro Football, including her favorite teams, The Las Vegas (Oakland)
Raiders, and The Dallas Cowboys. She loved listening to gospel music. Some of her favorite
groups were, The Gospel Keynotes, The Soul Stirrers, Willie Banks and The Messengers, and
Roy and Revelation. She also loved all of her nieces and nephews.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents: Deacon Davis and Naomi Young, two brothers,
Davis Donald Young and Kenneth Wayne Young, one sister, Jeannette Carter of Oakland,
California and one nephew, Michael Perry.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Five sisters, Sharon (Rev, A.C) Shelton, Patricia Wright,
Jereline (Reginald) Johnson of Pine Bluff, AR, Shirley Young and Jacquelyn Young. Two
brothers, Carl (Sandra) Young, and Rev. Ronald (Beverly) Young and a host of nieces and
nephews. Special cousins, Alma Kates and April Ellison of Chicago, IL and Anita Jones of
Prescott, AR. Special friends and caregivers, Kathy Wilcomb and Chec Colclough along with
