Derek Allmon, Sr., was born on July 29, 1963 in Little Rock AR. to the union of Lillian Jeanette Cannady Allmon and Isaac Allmon Jr. Derek's early Christian life began at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Gaines Street Church in adulthood. He received his formal education in Little Rock Public School District. Derek was an outgoing businessman
and entrepreneur with a love for cars, real estate, dogs, andmost importantly, his family. During his life he opened several businesses, including a grocery store, liquor storeand car dealership. Derek departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian CannadyAllmon and Isaac Allmon Jr.; daughter, Modesti Allmon; grandmothers, Mary Whitaker and Virginia Wright; great-grandmother, Sarah Robinson; great-grandfather, Andrew “Yankee” Robinson; and siblings, Ruby Taylor, Odell (William DeBerry Jr.) Allmon, Darryl Kenneth, Ivory Houston, Stanley Allmon, Benita Seamster, Cedric Cooper, Joann Jarrett and Geary Allmon Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory; sons, Derek Jr., Devin, DeMarco, Diamond, & Denton Allmon; daughter, AyannaAllmon; brothers, Calvin, Kevin (Christine), Michael, and Eric Allmon; sisters, Reba Allmon, Carolyn (Nathan) Barnett, Andrea Allmon, Elisa Allmon, Ivy Alexander (Dwight),Beatrice Allmon-Dobbins and LaSommer Henderson, aunt, Katherine “Cappy” Wright Knight. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
