Minnie Pearl Rogers was born on Jun 03, 1932, in Willisville, Arkansas to
Reuben Moss and Pearl Beasley-Moss. She was the youngest of nine
children. Five boys: Melvin, Claudell, Odell, Leavy, and Luther Moss. Four
girls: Edna Moss-Bookman, Susie Moss-Elliot, Gladys Moss-Williams, and
Minnie Moss-Rogers.
She departed this life March 11, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She graduated from Nevada County Training School (Oak Grove High
School) Rosston, Arkansas in 1950.
She was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics on Apr 25,
1954, from Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas.
She married Leslie Tyrone Roger, Jr. Dec 20, 1955. To this union one child
was born, Leslie Tyrone Rogers, III.
She legally changed her name from Minnie Pearl Rogers to Minnie Moss
Rogers.
She earned a Master of Education from the University of Arkansas on Jan
30, 1965, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from Ball State
University, Muncie, Indiana.
She worked in education her entire professional life.
She was a professor at Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas
for over twenty years. She retired from there in 1992.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, her husband, and her only
child, who passed away at the young age of 24.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
