Elizabeth McCoy-Rodgers was born on August 28, 1938, to the late Rev. Samual McCoy and
Evangelist Hozetta Glover-McCoy. She was a member of St Matthew Baptist Church in Scott,
Ar. Under the late Rev Cato Conley where she accepted Christ at a very young age, she was
very active in the church throughout her childhood where she participated in all children church
activities. She graduated from Carver High School in Lonoke, after graduating Elizabeth attended shorter college in North Little Rock. Elizabeth joined in holy matrimony on October 31, 1966 to Willie Lee Rodgers Sr. and formed a union which would last for 58 years, they have 8 children Ronald McCoy Sr. (Ann), Norman Shaw Sr., Carla Shaw-Smith, Kevin Shaw Sr. (Carolyn), Gary Shaw (Birnether), Willie Rodgers Jr. (Wilanett), Wayne Rodgers Sr., Wendell Rodgers Sr. (Areatha) of whom she introduced to Christ and taught them to honor and obey God above all else. Elizabeth and Willie joined St. Paul Baptist Church Under Pastor L. M. Knowles and have been a faithful member for over 50 years, she was also an active member of St. Paul’s sanctuary choir. Elizabeth retired from the Veterans Home of Little Rock as a nurse assistant. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Samual McCoy and Hozetta Glover-McCoy,
Twin Sisters Pearline McCoy-Phillips and Geraldine McCoy-Greer, brother-in- laws Kirby Greer, Elimish Phillips, and Son-in-law Deacon James Smith Sr.
