Ida Lee (Jones) Rogers

Missionary Ida Lee Simmons Jones Rogers was born the 3rd child of Preston and Callie Williford
Simmons on August 20, 1939, in Demopolis, Alabama. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early
age under the leadership of Elder T.J. Kinlow in Parkdale, AR.
She moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and was wedded to Hugh Willis Jones until his passing in
1985. She later wed Roosevelt Rogers in 1994.
While in Little Rock, Ida fellowshipped with Reed’s Temple, later Waters Temple C.O.G.I.C.
under the leadership of Elder Vernon Briscoe. In 2000, her son Elder Cletis H. Jones, began to
pastor My Father’s House Ministries where she was a faithful member until her passing.
Ida worked at Timex and then at the Little Rock School District as a Manager for 28 years until
her retirement. She loved spending almost every day at the church praying, studying, and
singing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one brother, Melvin Simmons; two
sisters, Joella Johnson and Lecester Brown; one daughter, Callie Mae Jones; two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Deborah (Bobby) Porter, Dermott, AR,
Alicia Jones, Jacksonville, AR; one son, Cletis (Tina) Jones, Little Rock, AR, five brothers, Joe
Louis (Pearlie) Simmons, Grenada, MS, William Simmons, Crossett, AR, Douglass (Ferry)
Simmons, Little Rock, AR, Alvin Simmons, Scott, AR, Bobby (Linda) Simmons, Jonesboro, GA;
two sisters, Effie Danzy, Little Rock, AR, Evelyn (Sie) Moore, Scott, AR; one aunt, Mother Junitha
Pierson, Phoenix, AZ; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
