Born April 28, 1945 to Alfred and Earnesteen Davis, in Augusta, Arkansas. He was the third born of 12 children. John accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Attended Carver high school and after graduating in 1963 moved his family to North Little Rock, Arkansas. Where he joined King Solomon Baptist Church in which his Spiritual growth continued, John was ordained as a Deacon under the Pastoral of Rev. Nathaniel Hall, Sr.
Met and married the love of his life, Helen Peten Davis, for 61 years and from this union produced four children.
John was brought up in a close family environment where he developed a genuine role for leadership, comment, and strong sense of responsibility. His spare time was for family activities and church sponsored events.
Began working for Central Arkansas Transit, where he retired after 43 years of service.
Proceeded in death by his parents, son Mark L. Davis, daughter Evonne L. Tripplett, three brothers Alfred Davis Jr., Carl Davis, Roy Davis and one sister Marie Davis.
He leaves to mourn his passing to cherish his memories: his wife, Helen Davis; son, John Davis, Jr.; special son, David Jones (Jean); daughter, Dalvonie D.
