Luther, son of Luther Evans, Sr., and the late Nannie Harrison-Evans, was born December 16, 1963, in Little Rock, Ark.
Luther was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His life embodied unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His character exemplified a man full of life and love and he had a personality that would light up any room.
Luther professed his faith in Christ at an early age. He was Pastor of St. Stephen MBC, North Little Rock, Ark. He was committed to serving God with his totality. Preaching and teaching God’s word always brought him his greatest joy. Luther also had a long prosperous career at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Little Rock, Ark. for over 22 years.
Luther graduated from Central High School, Little Rock, Ark., 1982. He continued to advance his education and obtained an Associated of Applied Science degree from Capital City Business College, Little Rock, Ark., as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Baptist College, Conway Ark.
Luther departed this life on May 1, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nannie Harrison-Evans and his brother Tony Harrison. He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Luther (Star) Evans, Sr., of Portland, OR. His loving wife of 29 years, Sharon; children, Lamont (Tasha) Scott and Kristopher Scott, siblings; Bertrand Evans, Calvin Evans and Kenneth Wynn of Sacramento, CA., grandchildren; Tytianna (Branden) Hays, LaMiya Scott, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at St. John MBC, 2501 Main Street, LR Ark. Body will lie in state at St. John MBC from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. morning of service. Mask are required for services.
