Mother Ozell Taylor, affectionately known as “Sister Tabo” or “Ms. Sister” throughout the “East End” of Little Rock, began this journey, April 6,1924 to the late Tom Bynum and Sarah Jackson. She and her twin brother, Odell were the third & fourth of five children. Mother Taylor was married to Vernon T. Taylor, Sr., and to this union five children were born. Mother Taylor accepted Christ at an early age and served her God the rest of her life.  She was a member of 1st Baptist, 901 Calhoun, for 66 years, and served as an usher at for over 40 years, under the pastorate of Pastor W.R. Vaughn, Pastor O.V. Harrison, Pastor William Thrasher, Dr. C.L. Harvey and Dr. Robert Manzy.  In her latter years, she joined her Son, Pastor Virgil Taylor at New Grace Baptist Church under “Watch Care”. The greatest joy of Mother Taylor was babysitting her grandchildren, Shanda, Shakena, Virgil, Jr., Jasmine, and later Davontaye.  She was blessed to see four generations when she celebrated her milestone 100th birthday in April 2024.During the last several years, Mother Taylor enjoyed the visits of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the company of a special friend, Mother Jeanette Bell.  They were neighbors at both their senior apartment building, as well as the Springs at Barrow Nursing and Rehab Center. Mother Taylor’s earthly journey came to an end Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Springs at Barrow Rehab Center, Little Rock, AR. We thank God for her life, as we celebrate her entry into eternal rest.
