Rev. Aaron Charlie Shelton Jr., “Ricky” born February 7, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the
late A.C. Shelton Sr., and Mae Willie Juniel.
He attended Little Rock Public School District and graduated from Ardmore High School in
Ardmore, OK. He returned to Little Rock and started working in the funeral
home industry beside his brother, Edward Shelton where he was very dedicated to the industry.
He worked with several different funeral homes. Other employment included, the North Little Rock School District, PCSSD, Pine Bluff Charter and his own transport service.
He was a lover of preaching and started pastoring New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church
on May 6, 2001 until his health began to fail him in 2024. In that same year, he joined Faithful
Temple Church under the leadership of Rev. Ronald Young. He was a faithful servant during his
membership there. He was a lover of good gospel music and attended many in and out of town gospel concerts. He
was also a radio personality for many radio stations.
He transitioned from this earthly home to his heavenly home on December 31, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Gabe Jackson, maternal and paternal
grandparents, two sisters Vivian and Helen.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sharon Young Shelton, two daughters, Ashley Wrenn Shelton and Regaysha Shelton; three grandchildren, Zechariah Baker, Makai Jackson
and River Jackson. Six brothers, Youvern Washington, Laverne (Patricia) Washington, Edward
(LaTanya) Shelton, Anthony Shelton, Danny (Paula) Shelton, Bernard Shelton and three sisters,
Jean, Anita and Cotina (Lavell) Stewart. A loving step mother, Mrs. Ozella Shelton “Mama O”,
and many colleagues, family, and friends live on through the memories he leaves behind.
