Roy Davis, Sr. was born April 12, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Geroy
Curry and Ella Mitchell. He transitioned into heaven on Tuesday, February 4,
2025, from St. Vincent Infirmary. Roy was raised in Roland, Arkansas by his
grandparents, Charles and Flora Davis. He accepted Christ at a young age and
was a graduate of Dunbar High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation, Roy
joined the United States Army. After returning home from service, he married
the beautiful Georgia Moore and through that marriage they were blessed
with six children.
Education was essential to Roy, and he soon entered Arkansas Baptist College
where he received a degree in psychology. Roy was employed with Store
Container where he retired after forty-three years.
After discovering a love for running in the Army, Roy decided to compete in the
Senior Olympics. His talents led him to dominate in the Arkansas Regionals. He
