Born on January 26, 1956, to the late Charlie Davis Ross and Alva Margaret Polk, Sharon was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and loving mother who touched countless lives with her radiant smile, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. From a young age, Sharon had an unbreakable spirit, an inspiring determination, and a compassionate heart that made her a light to everyone around her. She was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, but later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where she was known for her kindness, laughter, and the joy brought to every room she entered.
Sharon was a 1974 graduate of Little Rock Parkview High School, where she was a famed member of the Patriots Drill Team and a graduate of Draughon School of Business. She was a long-time employee of Bank of America and later retired from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences after 22 years of service, where her dedication, work ethic, and love for her profession left an indelible mark on those she worked with.
Outside of her career, Sharon dedicated much of her time uplifting others and her love for helping people was evident in everything she did. Friends and family often recall her gentle wisdom and the countless ways she showed up for others in their time of need. Above all, Sharon cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to Yolanda, who was the light of her life, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her brother Terry and her sister Danita. Her family meant everything to her, and her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion lives on in them.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles ross, Carolyn ross, Alvin Ross, Everett Lawrence Ross, Ronnie Ross, and Dennis Ross.
Sharon leaves behind to cherish her legacy, her daughter, Yolanda Ross-Vanderbilt (Cory), her brother, Terry Ross, and her sister, Danita Ross-Norris (Glenn), a very special niece Sharronda Ross, and a host of family and friends who were dear to her heart. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, yet we are comforted in knowing her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
