Teresa Yvonne Reed Bush entered this world on May 1, 1951. Born in Malvern, Arkansas to the late George B. Reed and the late Johnnie Mae Williams-Reed(Bunch), she was the second out of eight children. After her mother’s death when Teresa was thirteen, she was raised by her grandmother, Ruth Anthony. As a child, Teresa loved reading, writing, and handwriting. Many of her teachers would ask her to work on projects that required neat and precise penmanship. Teresa also had a love for baseball. Her teammates called her “one-hand Reed” because she could swing the bat with one hand and often not miss. Being the second oldest child, Teresa loved and cared for her siblings as a mother would. Teresa was a member of Full Counsel Metro Church (Bishop Silas Johnson), and a firm believer in our Savior. She gave her life to Christ at a young age, and her walk with Christ was evident in her strength, kindness, generosity, her smile, and the strong love she had for her family and friends. Teresa graduated from nursing school in 1972 with her sister, the late Wanda Davis. She dedicated her life as a licensed practical nurse until 2020, working inexhaustibly to aid in the healing and comfort of others. During her career as a nurse, Teresa made many life long friends that were touched by her genuine spirit. In 2019, when Teresa’s health began to decline, she continued to hold on to her faith in Christ. During those years, she found joy in spending time laughing and creating memories with family and friends. She was overjoyed in 2022 when her great granddaughter (Mahlani Heard) arrived, and talked about her constantly. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Teresa was called to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her sister(Wanda Davis) and her brothers(Reginald and Ronald Blackmon). Teresa leaves behind to cherish her memories; husband, Robbie Bush (Little Rock, AR) daughter, Melanie Smith (Little Rock, AR), granddaughter, Mallory Williams (Little Rock, AR), and great granddaughter, Mahlani Heard (Little Rock, AR). She also leaves behind her siblings: Richard Reed (Sherry) of Bryant, Arkansas, John Blackmon(Artie) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Donald Blackmon of Little Rock, AR, and Michael Blackmon of Little Rock, AR, and a host of family and friends. Teresa Yvonne Reed Bush will be greatly missed. Her life of selflessness, service, courage, humor, and love will live on in our hearts forever.
