Thelma Marie Clark was born June 23,1931 to the late Nathaniel and Hosie
Lee Jarrett. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Araratt
Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor BH Ganaway.
In her teen years, she along with her eldest children relocated from
Galloway, AR to East Little Rock to purchase a home for her family; that
she later blessed her mother with at 802 Townsend Street.
Thelma was a faithful servant to God, tither and worshiper all the days
of her life. After 32 years of service, working at the Arkansas VA
Hospital: she retired. Thelma enjoyed traveling, spending time with her
family and friends. She served on the usher board at Mt. Araratt Baptist
Church for over 60 years. She loved fellowshipping with her church family
and friends of Buffington Towers. Even during her time of transitioning,
she was dedicated to attending virtual Sunday school.
Thelma valued family and cherished celebrating amongst loved ones. She
often looked forward to spending time with her children and
grandchildren. From intimate gatherings to weekends shopping and
patronizing restaurants; especially her favorite Chinese restaurants.
Thelma exuded style, grace and sophistication. Her sense of fashion
emanated a quiet elegance. Her favorite color was pink and she
effortlessly incorporated it into her love for clothes, jewelry, purses
and not to mention her signature head piece, scarves.
She enjoyed pampering herself and maintained standing bi weekly hair
salon, manicure and pedicure appointments. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Hosie Lee
Jarrett; Husband Earl Clark; Three brothers Elbert Jarrett, Sr., Earl
Jarrett, Nathaniel Jarrett, Jr., Six sisters Geraldean Jarrett, Inez
Clowers, Carolyn Jarrett, Dorothy Jarrett, Willie Lee Cash, & Catherine
